  • Tariq Hanung Widarso spent 13 years at Sekolah Cita Buana and graduated in 2011. “I loved how the school was such a close-knit community. While I was there I knew the students, teachers, and staff by their first name and knew most of them well. It was the general environment and atmosphere that the school had, where people were very friendly and that made the days at school something to look forward to,” said Tariq. Tariq won many English debating awards while at Sekolah Cita Buana and the school helped him to apply to University. Tariq received a scholarship and is currently enrolled at Ithaca College in New York. “How would I describe Cita Buana?” “That’s easy” said the college freshman, “My alternate home!”

  • Emalia da Silva transferred to Sekolah Cita Buana High School in 2006. “The school welcomed me with open arms from the first day I stepped into campus. Blending in was the easiest thing I had to do during the first few weeks, and by graduation day I was able to call my friends, ‘family.' Sekolah Cita Buana made my transition so smooth, that it felt as if I had been going there for years. That is how high school is supposed to feel. Making sure that the students have a place to belong and grow,” said Emalia. Emalia said at first she doubted herself about surviving college oversees, but the teachers showed her how to tackle situations without fear. Emalia is currently studying at Baruch College - City University of New York.
